NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to identify and arrest a suspect in a car theft investigation. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.
According to police, the crime happened around 9 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 23, at a convenience store in the 4600 block of General De Gaulle Drive in Algiers. The NOPD also released a security camera video clip that shows much of what happened.
In the video, a car is seen pulling up and parking at the store's tire pressure air compressor. Moments later, the driver walks around the car and leans inside through the passenger door. Behind him, the thief can be seen waiting for the man to leave. As soon as he goes to enter the store, the thief swoops in and steals the car.
According to police, the driver left the car running when he walked inside the store. To see the latest Wheel of Justice report, including the security camera footage, watch the video at the top of this story.
