NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) -- The latest Wheel of Justice report begins with the search for a man who robbed a Walgreens store but not before meeting some resistance from a store worker. According to police, it happened at about 4:45 pm on December 13 at the location in the 4200 block of Chef Menteur Highway. Police say a man approached the store's prescription counter and implied he had a gun, but the clerk ran to the back of the pharmacy. That's when the man went to a register at the front of the store, revealed a gun, and ran off with the store's money.
Monday's WOJ report also included the search for whoever shot and killed a Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office sergeant. According to deputies, Tracey Marshall was found dead in the driver's seat of a pickup truck at about 9:45 Monday morning. They say a woman noticed the truck's broken glass with hair hanging out the window. They also say multiple bullet casings were found outside the truck. Marshall was a ten-year veteran of the department and worked as a court bailiff.
Finally, Monday's WOJ included the search for whoever stole a pickup truck in Laplace and opened fire on the state troopers who tried to stop the truck in New Orleans East. The troopers were in an unmarked car. They say the car was hit by bullets but they were not. They also released photos from surveillance cameras of the stolen truck and at least two people believed to be involved in the case.
