UPDATE: NOPD Superintendent Michael Harrison says he thinks the string of armed robberies and carjackings that swept across the city this Memorial Day weekend could be related.
Police are looking through possible ties between the cases and are working to get photos and surveillance video of any suspects.
The NOPD is also asking for the public's help with any leads.
NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) – New Orleans Police responded to a more than a dozen armed robberies and six carjackings this weekend. The violent crimes hit all parts of the city, from Uptown to the French Quarter to Lake Pontchartrain and New Orleans East.
A convenience store in the Lower Ninth Ward was robbed at gunpoint twice in one night.
According to police reports, armed robberies and aggravated burglaries were reported in the following locations from midnight Saturday through Monday morning:

-Frenchmen/Royal
-Dauphine/Mandeville
-5104 St. Claude
-6400 Franklin Ave.
-3700 Banks St.
-2544 St. Philip St.
-3400 Rue Parc Fontaine
- Chartres/Frenchman
-3800 block of Carondelet
-Press Dr./Pressburg St.
-7900 block of Bass
-6000 block of Bullard
-900 block of Toulouse
Carjackings were reported at the following locations:
-2722 Bruxelles St.
-2660 Cupid St.
-4600 Majestic Oaks
-3000 N. Rampart
-2906 Freret St.
- Chef/Good
Reports say Saturday's overnight crime log is the most armed robberies and carjackings NOPD has worked in a single day since January 2012.
