The crime happened on Thursday, May 15, in the 2600 block of Wisteria Street in Gentilly Terrace. Police also released security camera footage that shows much of what happened.
According to police around 4 p.m., three young people were walking down the street and approached a car that was parked in a driveway. The security camera footage shows one of the suspects using a tool to shatter a window on a passenger side door. Then he climbs into the car.
Police did not say if any items were missing, but they say that the steering column had been defeated in an unsuccessful attempt to steal car.
