NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) — The New Orleans Police Department is trying to identify and arrest a group of thieves who are blamed for at least six car burglaries in the same night in the Mid-City and Gentilly neighborhoods. The case is the latest one to roll on the Wheel of Justice.
According to police, the crimes happened early in the morning on Tuesday, April 1. Police released security camera footage of a couple of the locations, including the 100 block of South Bernadotte Street.
In the video, burglars are seen using a white Hyundai Tucson to make the rounds. Police say the car was also stolen in a previous incident. In the video, you can also hear what sounds like the shattering of glass as well as one car's burglar alarm.
Police also say a 9mm Smith & Wesson pistol was stolen from one of the burglarized cars.
